Grader Laser Grading Building Floors
During
the construction of buildings the floors are among the last items to
be completed. This means the walls and roof are up, and there is very
limited access to get equipment into the building to perform the fine-grading.
The usual answer was laborers using the old pick and shovel, strings
and grade stakes. Precision Grading's laser grader with a length of
10 feet and width of 4 feet could fit through small openings and could
accurately grade the slab-on-grade before the concrete was poured.
It was not long
before workers realized that not only was the grading time greatly reduced,
but the accuracy of the work was vastly improved. Less concrete overages
saved the contractors money.Less
man hours were needed for a further savings of wages and benefits.
The mini-grader©
proved to be a valuable machine. In February 1983 when laser equipment
was incorporated into the mini-grader© the name was not the only
change. Now a gravel base of 50,000 square feet could be accurately
Laser-Graded ® in an eight hour day.
